Anyone like a cordless iron, works like a cordless phone? TY

I didn't like the one I had, but there might be better ones out there.

the best ones out there were the Maytags...but alas, they too had issues and did not stay on the market more than a couple of years..I now own two of them...and I could not imagine life without them...

would LOVE two or three more of them!

I tried other brands that came out and man,, they really sucked...bad design flaws that allowed the iron to fall out of the cradle, etc...

The Maytags stopped steaming within 6 months of use..no reason to it, they just stopped...did not bother me, I don't use steam...

have not seen a NEW model out on the market in years...except the Italian copycats that cost upwards of a $1,000..as if...

I too love my Maytag cordless iron. Mine still works wonderfully and I wish I could buy more to have in case mine stops working. They must have had alot of problems with them as they disappeared off the market in just a couple of years. (mine still steams-I only use boughten water in it, which may be why mine still works correctly)

I have one of the Maytags and used it for quite a while, but eventually got tired of having to it back on the plate to reheat so often. This was especially annoying when I was having a 'marathon' ironing day after washing a bunch of new fabric. So for that type of ironing I use a full size Rowenta and for patchwork I use the small, light weight Rowenta travel iron. I do keep the Maytag in the laundry room for clothing touch up type ironing.

I was able to get a cordless Maytag iron at a good price. I use for pressing finished quilt tops. This way the cord doesn't get in the way and mess things up.

For other parts of quilting I use my regular Black & Decker iron.

I have tried the Olesso [?spelling] but found that while the idea was great the iron was way too heavy for me to use. Darn it.

You can't get them in this country, I had a good search about a year ago. I mostly use a travel iron for piecing anyway. It's easier to lift, uses less power, and most importantly, the small size gives me far more accuracy and is better suited to pressing the size of seams I'm dealing with.
