oops. Sounds like a disaster to me.

Welcome to the club! :-) I now use a small towel or nice 'rag' on my ironing board when using fusible.

That fusible is permanent.

According to eHow, it is possible to remove (http://www.ehow.com/how_5098992_remove-fusible.html). And I have accidentally removed it from an applique piece in the past.

Ironing board covers are inexpensive. It's just one of those things you toss and forget it ever happened. I saw the name brand Bonash silver self adhering heat reflecting ironing board cover in General Dollar store for $12. I know I paid about twice three times that at a quilt show some years ago. It's a great ironing board cover. It fits all sizes.

Yes, I think a new ironing board cover is the answer. Even if you got it up it would not be the same on the cover. The only thing that might work is to reheat it and pull immediately. Get you a teflon sheet to use for fuseable webbings. Doesn't stick to them.

Fuse a piece of fabric to the up-side of it or get a new cover. Much less headache than trying to get it totally off and not have it haunt you later.

Even if you manage to get most of it off it'll stick to your iron and anything else you iron. Just get a new cover or make a new cover.
