Ok I am on the look out for a good heavy iron. I don't use the steam feature I want to IRON wrinkles out and press seams. I already have a steamer. I have a Panasonic one that dh got me about 14 years ago, it still works great but I have scratches no gouges on the plate and I know it's only a matter time before they start to rust or mar my fabric. I acquired said scratches when I didn't know my board cover and it's many small tears developed a large rip right down to the metal board (which I've had about 20 years old and from a yard sale) and it's cute rust spots.
I really would like a 1500-1700 watt and weight around 4-5 pounds, any help on what one is best. |
Rowenta, Rowenta & Rowenta. The irons are a little pricey but the higher end ones will last for years and years. I have 3. One for my clothing and 2 for myself and sewing ladies to use at weekly sew-in. I love them.

Rowenta! My daughter had a fit when I told her what I paid for my beloved Rowenta --- until she tried it. She loudly exclaimed: "It levitates"

May I recommend you use the "search" function? We have had many discussions recently on irons

I'm in agreement with everyone else - Rowenta. I have two of them and can't imagine sewing/quilting without it.
