Yummy!! That's gorgeous fabric!! Don't know where you can buy it but somebody on here will know or can advise you.

Are you sure that isn't applique? I had a friend that has the same exact pattern that she was appliquing. Weird same colors too. Oh I hadnt scrolled down to see the batik one I was talking about the one at the top with all the flowers. Sorry

Yes, it's applique. I have the OESD embroidery designs for this. I just need the fabric.

CarrieAnne 01-14-2011 07:37 PM

very pretty!

Airwick156 01-14-2011 07:46 PM

I have some of that fabric, only just a few strips. That was one that I used in a Batik Fabric Fling I made. I bought it at this place. She does have some batiks on the web site, BUT I CAN guarantee you shes got 100's of bolts of just Batiks. When we go to the Oregon Coast, I always stop by there. Give her the webpage for that quilt and ask her if she has that particular fabric.

Thanks. I can get it fairly local for $10 a yard:< Is she less?

crochetetc 01-14-2011 09:50 PM

Fabricfanatics.com has some of it left for $8.50 a yard.

I messed up my bom so I am going to be searching for some of it as well. If you are doing hand applique do not use the accu quilt dies, I found out the hard way and wasted all my bom kit fabric.

Thanks, I'll look into it. No, I'm not using any dies, I've got the CD and I have to cut out the appliques by hand. What problem did you run into with the dies?

crochetetc 01-14-2011 10:08 PM

There is no seam allowance on the dies although they are advertised big time for applique.

I wonder if the dies are supposed to be used with the OESD CD as there are no seam allowances-it's fused. Here's a sample block I did. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-78320-1.htm I used scrap fabric to do a sample before I spent $$ and got the batiks. Ouch that's not good:< Did you complain to them?

I actually spoke with Sharon Pederson herself today, in hand applique you use it to cut out your freezer paper templates only. But I cannot find this in writing anywhere. And I can tell you from posting on the accu quilt list today that the OESD is not compatible with the dies, so many complaints on it.

I told the LQS I was going to cut them out with that and not one person mentioned it not working. So frustrated about the whole thing and the money lost. I might just skip this block and see if I can get more pieces for it out of scrapes from other blocks because I cannot seem to find anywhere to buy the fabric locally or online.

Candace 01-14-2011 10:29 PM

So, the dies are only good for the paper templates and then you're supposed to add the seam allowance? That's crazy! I can see why people would be upset! I e-mailed Accuquilt to ask if the dies were compatible with the OESD CD as I have the Studio cutter and they told me the dies weren't made for the CD. But, that's VERY frustrating:<

The site that you gave me doesn't have the fabric you need?

crochetetc 01-14-2011 10:34 PM

I am going to go there tomorrow to look, I am not one to have patience looking for fabric online. But they carry only batiks and nothing else. I know they have pieces of the line as I bought the sashing fabric last weekend before I realized I messed up the rest of the cuts.

crochetetc 01-14-2011 10:36 PM

Does your store have an online store I can look at?

Candace 01-14-2011 10:49 PM

Shoot. Good luck. That's really disappointing:< Did Sharon tell you what's going on with the dies not matching up to the patterns?

They are designed for raw edge machine applique.

Candace 01-14-2011 10:52 PM

Which would have been nice for you to know, right!!! Ack.

quilt-fanatic 01-15-2011 01:41 AM

I think those are some of the prettiest batiks I've seen! I don't think they carry the specific line I need, but yummy none the less!

crochetetc 01-15-2011 09:27 AM

Well Candace,

I called fabric fanatics and they are out of town at a show so will have to wait until next week. But I would suggest if your lqs will sell the fabric to you to buy it now.

I have spent the morning calling and searching and no one has it that will sell it. I called Hancock of Paduch and they are on back-order until April.

Would you mind sharing the name of your quilt shop so maybe I can call and see if they will sell me any of it as well.

Thanks,

Candace 01-15-2011 09:43 AM

Rann 02-09-2011 04:06 PM
