Hi my very intelligent and most helpful friends!! I need help again. My backing material is too narrow (by about 6 inches) for my quilt top :( I have extra material, so I'm not worried about that. I want to match up the print so it is as unobtrusive as possible. I plan on adding this extra material to only one side. I'd pressed a half inch seam (on this extra) and have matched the pattern PERFECTLY. Now......how do I secure this extra material to the backing, so that it doesn't move and I can sew it??????

I'd adhere it with washable glue or Elmer's school glue that would wash out. Or, an iron on adhesive product and then sew it together to make sure the seam allowance would not move.

I have this same question! Here is the link to my topic I posted last night and all the answers I got.

Thanks, MillieK! I'll check it out!

Thank you all for your suggestions! I went ahead and taped the two pieces together and pinned them. Sewed everything carefully, and you cannot tell where the seam is, at all!!!! I am so pleased with the outcome! THANK YOU ALL:)
