This is a jacket I finished made from a sweatshirt. The emblishments were done with Borders Made Easy and then trimmed away the sweatshirt. The back has a border on it also from the neck to the bottom.

Pretty and warm looking.

Not understanding how or where you trimmed away the sweatshirt. Please explain.

Where the blue is is where the sweatshirtwas trimmed away. You attach a piece of fabric (blue) to the wrong side of the shirt. You press the Borders Made Easy to the front over the blue fabric. you then stitch on the lines of the Borders Made easy and then you trim the sweatshirt away in between the lines exposing the blue underneath. Hope that made some sense.

Ah, I get it.

Very, very clever.

I found this older .pdf tutorial showing how to use the product as originally sold.

Kay has used it in a (very ingenious) "off-label" way - sort of making her own reverse applique...but without a lot of the work.

Beautifully done!

Can you post a picture of the inside of the jacket?
It might help to visualize how it was made.

Would probably work very well on a quilt block/border as well.

Here are some of the other patterns available:

Beautiful, you should teach a class on this. I'm sure you would have lots of people in there. The only thing I don't like about these jackets is by the time you cut off the bottom ribbing it makes it so short. I'm tall and I like my jackets long so I usually leave the ribbing on. I also use a man's sweatshirt because they are longer. Colors are different though.

That's what I do too. I also don't like cutting the ribbings off.
