I have the Janome 6600 and recently looked for the 1/4 inch accufeed foot. My LQS only carries it as the foot with a marked needle plate. I can order just the accufeed 1/4 inch foot on-line from a sewing supply company but wonder why Janome packages the foot with the needle plate. Couldn't find any information on the Janome site. Does anyone know why the plate is combo'd with 1/4 inch foot?

Is the plate, does it have just one little hole for the needle to go up and down? Connie in CO

It was difficult to tell but I think it did just have a single hole.

I have this foot for my machine and per the instructions, you need the face plate to use the foot. I haven't used mine yet. Hope this helps you.

Yes it does...I guess if I wasnt to use the accufeed , I'll have to buy the combination. Thanks for the info.

I use mine all the time. The hole is different but I rarely change out the plate.

I have this foot and the plate has a smaller hole for straight stiching...you just have to be careful that you remember to change the plate when you are using the other stitches...(speaking from experience...broken needles)

But I have to say about this Accufeed 1/4 inch foot that I have returned to using the regular 1/4 inch foot that came with the machine...it was just working better for me...I am getting a straighter stitch line, and a more accurate seam...I have kept the straight stitch plate...

I wonder if anyone else has had this experience with the Accufeed foot.

I started to use the accufeed when sewing on my borders as I was having trouble with the fabric "stretching", but then I was having a difficult time keeping an accurate 1/4 inch. Thought having the 1/4 inch accufeed attachment would help and make the sewing easier.

I purchased that machine not too long ago. At the time I bought it, I thought there would be a quarter inch foot with the accufeed, but was told later that there is not. Couldn't find one on line either. I was not a happy person since I use a 1/4 inch foot a lot and like to use the accufeed Mine does have a 1/4 inch foot, you just can't utilize the accufeed with it.
So, are you saying there is a 1/4 inch foot that you can use with the accufeed?

If you go to http://www.allbrands.com, when the site comes up enter Acufeed and then Janome and you see the various products. The acufeed 1/4 inch foot is listed for 19.99. I think I have ordered from them w/o problems.
