Hi all. Question to those of you that have this machine. Have any of you had a problem with the bobbin casing jumping from the "socket" area and jamming when the needle can't go down? The only time I have had this is immediately after using the free motion foot (darning) and returning to the standard or the walking foot. The first time it happened, I bought a new bobbin casing. Everything was fine for about 3 months, and now it is doing it again. Is there a solution to this, or something I am forgetting or doing to cause it? I love this machine otherwise. I have had it to the shop twice now, and they cannot seem to replicate the problem, so I feel like an idiot- the old ID-10-T issue my son reminds me I have.

It is pretty easy to put it in wrong, check that first. The next thought is that there is a spring that can go bad.

I agree ... my first thoughts are that you are putting it in wrong, as it is very easy to do.

If damaged, you do need to replace it.
When you get your new one, practice in front of your dealer several times, to become confident that you are doing it absolutely right. And then do it some more times while you are there, just to make sure.
That's what worked for me!

No you are not an idiot. Bring it in and have them bring up and adjust the whole housing. There is too much play. After this is done I have had not had any problems. Buying new bobbin casings doesn't help. This is not an uncommon problem with this machine.

Thanks Anna, I will do that. I have ordered another casing too though.
