HI
Can someone help me?Or direct me to a place where I can get help. I have been so frustrated trying to learn how to store and recall my name in the stitch programming on my machine. I have had this feature but don't know how to use it. I get confused with the manual. I need step by step instructions, especially on how to store and find it when I want to use it. Thanks. I want to start using this feature instead of quilt labels.....I already went to the Janome Group on Yahoo.

I pulled out my own manual and went through the whole thing.

As far as I can tell, when the manual says "pattern" it means one letter or decorative stitch. A word, for example, would be a collection of letter patterns.

I didn't see any indication that we can save those pattern collections permanently. The machine will only remember the current collection of patterns. Once we change it or turn off the machine, it's gone.

Sooooo ... if we know we'll want to use the same collection of patterns again in the future, I guess we have to write everything down and program it again each time.

Patrice, someone on the Yahoo forum responded to me with this. And yes, I do know for a fact that we can program and store a series of stitches/letters in a pattern and recall them later. That is a feature of the Janome MC6600. I just don't know how to do it. But thanks to this poster!!! And thanks to you for also responding to me!! MA

Press the letter key to get the font you want. Use the keypad to enter the numbers for each letter, pressing the red M key toward the bottom right of your machine after each letter. When your sequence is complete, press the M key toward the top that has the 2 arrows to find an "empty" folder or slot. There are 5 available. Once you are in the slot, press the red M key to save the sequence there. You can sew it immediately; or come back to it later. To recall the sequence later, press the M arrow key to get back to that folder. Press the circle shaded in halves to recall that sequence, and sew.
