I know that jelly rolls are 2 1/2 inches wide -can this pattern be made with wider strips and if so what changes need to be made when sewing the strips together? I have some red prints I would like to use like this but the pattern in one is large and 3 1/2 inch strips would work with the material.

I've made this top with fat quarters using 5" strips. So I think you should just go for it!

This Lasagna quilt top is made with varying widths:

Are you talking about the 1600" quilt?

I worked out a formula for using wider strips from existing stash if you were doing them for charity - less strips, less sewing, quicker quilt.

You need the approx ending size of the quilt and finished width of the strips - the formula should work.
Should.

I say it's your quilt, you can use whatever you want. I think the varying widths would look good.
