:) Just wondering if anyone has ever used Jelly Rolls to make a hexagon quilt. And how do you get the quotes attached to your messages. Thanks, I just loved this site you guys are wonderful quilters with so much good info.

I have never bought a jelly roll, but I have seen them. It sure is nice for someone who wants to bypass the cutting and get right to the sewing.

To show what someone else wrote previously, just click on the word quote on the upper right in the box of the person you want to quote. When you submit what you are saying, it will show up with your message.

i have never done it either but i have a pattern somewhere around here that uses strips to make hexagons and them you cut triangles out of your strips and form them into hexagons. so each hexagon is 2 strips and you center is one color and the outside is another.
Don't know if this makes sense. I will see if I can find the pattern

slide the bar on the right until you see the window for hexagons. click on that and you'll get easy instructions. of course, you can only make the hexes as large as your strips.

also, you can make your own template - you don't have to buy her special ruler.

I love Jelly Rolls, Turnovers, Charms, Honey Buns, and Layer Cakes. At first I thought this is silly, why buy fabric that's already cut. Now I know why. The precuts save space, you have perfectly matched fabric of darks, med, and lights, it's economical, no wasted fabric cuts, and they are so motivating! I can look at a jelly roll and can't wait to start sewing something.
