Juki 2010/2000?
 

Hi all,
I'm new to your amazing forum and hope someone can offer some advice. I found the forum as I was looking for information on users of the Juki 2000 or Juki 2010. I am looking at one or the other of them, primarily for doing the free motion quilting on my quilts. I'm currently using a beloved old Elna 6005 to do all my quilting and fm, but want something with a longer arm. I don't need a bunch of fancy stitches, just a good steady machine. Your thoughts on the Juki mid arms? Anyone using one? Is there much difference between the 2000 and the 2010?

welcome to the board. i have a juki tl98q. i just love this machine. it sews a great straight stitch. i used to use it on a table and then got a frame. i have had no troubles with this machine.

I have the Juki 2010Q. I love it and purchased it for the free motion quilting. I use it for piecing and FMQ. A great machine at a great price. Don't hesitate with this choice.

I also have a Juki 2010Q. I have only had it about a year and I love it. I have mostly used it for piecing and have done one FMQ project - my first and only so far! The machine worked just fine, but I'm still learning.

I have a Juki tl98q as well. . I LOVE IT. I do my own quilting. I don't use it as a long arm I use it as a regular machine and stipple all my own quilts. I love this machine and it is 1500 stitches per. I can hardly sew on my other machines they seem so slow. good luck with yours.

I'm thinking about one of these machines too. I love my Pfaff Quiltstyle for piecing but now that I'm actively focused on finishing UFOs the 6.5" harp is a real battle for machine quilting. My nearest Juki dealer is 3 hours away so I need to schedule a trip to try them out. I bought my Pfaff 10 years ago to replace an 18 year old Elna, so I'm probably due!

I have the 2010q and I just love it. I do piecing and FMQ with it. I have had it 1 year.
I highly recommend it. It is a real work horse. I have a Brother also but compared to my Juki,
I have to go with the Juki.

I have the 2010 and love it i used to have a phaff hobby quilter and like the juki alot more i realy like the thead cutter option on the foot pettal i use it all the time. i bought it just for FMQ but use it for peicing as well i rarly use any of my other machines any more.

My DH is a gem. Today I was quilting my largest Project Linus UFO which measures 48 x 72. I heard his car in the garage, but he usually looks at the mail for awhile so thought I'd finish the row I was on before taking a break. All of a sudden I looked up and he was standing in the doorway watching me. He said "I thought you could pay someone to do that?". I explained that I could and do sometimes but thought I could manage this one. Obviously he could see it was not going well. I mentioned I was thinking about a bigger machine and showed him how more room on the right side would make a big difference and he said that sounds like a great Christmas gift! Woo!! And, I found a Juki dealer just 2 hrs away!

I too have been considering the Juki 2010. But I was put off by some comments that a 9" harp really isn't large enough for full sized quilts. It was recommended I go with at least a 11-12". But that size is so much more expensive. For those who use the Juki 2010, do you feel it has enough room to do full sized quilts without really struggling with them. I won't be using a frame as I have no room for one.

I am also thinking of a Juki. So hard to know which model to get or to consider.

I have the 2000 and there is plenty of room to do a full size quilt. I have never been happier with a purchase, ever!

I have a TL98Q and absolutely love it. I use it for all straight stitching and FMQing. I have had my machine for several years and have never had any trouble with it. Does like lots of oil.

Yes, my 2010Q does too.

I'm new to longarm quilting with my Juki 2010. Just loaded a practice quilt on the frame. My top thread keeps breaking. I'm using Connecting Threads 100% cotton thread on top and bottom. The machine is threaded properly and the tensions are fine. Needle is OK. I'm using a SureStitch regulator. Is there a different thread I should use or does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, I need all the help I can get.

I have the juki 2000 on a frame and I just did a queen size the owner wanted extra long so it's 110" long. The throat space was still fine allowing me about 4"in work space o nthe final row. Thats using cotton batting. On the thread issue I have had a terrible time with CT thread breakage. Just my opinion. But use an 18 topstitch needle and you may get better results. I switched to poly thread from metroemb.com
