I just bought home my new Bernina but I have to tell you that with sooo many machines out there it was a difficult decision and now I am second guessing myself...I didn't start that until after the sales person put my credit card through and at the same time told me NO REFUNDS! Having said that I love the machine it is simple and sooo easy to use and inituitive which I need. Not to many bells and whistles just a great sewing machine. I love, love the walking foot that I paid way, way too much for ($158) saw it on ebay for $69. My last machine was a Bernette 17 years old. I just started quilting this Jan. and had to upgrade. It has all the features of the Janome 6600 except for the automatic thread cutter and easy to get to bobbin, that part I don't like but the 350 is very well made...can't get out of it now :-) I paid $1500 including the walking foot. Does anyone have one yet?

Berninas are great machines........Mine is simple too but a work horse......Activa 135 Patch Work Edition.Paid $999. 8yrs ago at the Chicago Quilt show.Alex Anderson was there promoting Berninas so I got one.....Was going to upgrade but the only difference were more stitches.Don't need all them extras.Good luck with your new machine....You won't regret your buy.....

Don't have that model but purchased an 1120 over 25 years ago ($1100 even back then). I must have a million miles on it and the first trip to the repair shop was this summer, which only cost $100. Nearly indestructible, a work horse and remarkable resale value if you ever decide to trade in or sell. You can't go wrong!

Congrats on your Bernina. I just purchased the 440QE and started sewing with it for the first time last night. I have never had such a wonderful machine. They are very well build and I am going to a class on the 13th of this month. It is a bit imtimidating, but I have played with the BSR and I know I am going to love it. Bernina has all medal parts and that is what made my decision to purchase. I have always been a Singer person, but Singer is no match for a Bernina. Enjoy!

How do you thread the damn thing?

I have 2 Bernina's and just love them! My main machine is a 730 (my first Bernina was a 440QE). Then last July, my DH got me the 330 for my travel machine. It is a great little machine also. Enjoy!!!

I was given a 350PE for Christmas and absolutely LOVE it.

If you find in the manual the page about how to thread it...it is a little difficult at first, but it has a threader right next to the needle. LOVE that feature. :) Couldn't do without it now. LOL I went to take the class on how to care for it and use some of the features on it and learned sooo much. If you have this option available to you, please take advantage of it. It is well worth the time to go. Congrats on your machine. I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
