I'm getting married within the year, and I saw an idea where someone in lieu of a guest book is making quilt squares and providing fabric crayons for people to write with, and she will make a quilt out of it afterwards. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!! So I'm borrowing it, and will make 5" squares with an outline drawn about 1/2" inside. I will pink the edges to prevent fraying. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I will also print wedding photos to include in the quilt, and I'm thinking of letting the kids just have a ball coloring the squares too!

Wow, Awesome idea. Sounds like so much fun...Gee, you may get enough to have a reversible quilt.

I have been doing this for over 15 years. Started with a guest quilt at my daughter's bridal shower. Then added baby showers, birthdays, graduations, even Xmas family reunion. I recently did one for my Grandson's Christening.

I always make one for any shower, both bridal & baby, that I go to. It makes a great gift!

If you are interested in what I have found works the best, let me know and I'd be happy to share

did this for one DD's wedding last fall - be sure to back blocks with freezer paper to make writing easier. Also I suggest you lightly pencil a 1/4" border to help people 'stay in the lines' or part of their message/picture will end up in seam.

for my other DD's summer wedding she had backing fabric as a tablecloth at gift table for guests to write on. This will be the back of a wallhanging with pictures, fabric pieces from dresses & even a piece of the johnny my husband was wearing when he arrived at rehearsal (trip to ER - motorcylce spill - long story) but happy ending
