I saw a few post about the Fabric Shack but not alot..
I just went online and bought 1/2 yard of Chocolate Kona cotton for 2.50 with 2.50 shipping.. they have Great Shipping prices... Even when I put in 10 yards.. it still said 2.50 shipping. Anyway, the only reason I did it is because I cant find Chocolate Kona at any store in my area and I wanted to see if it is the Right color before I buy a large quanity. Oh..also I posted last night about my Kona from Joanns feeling like the Robert Kauffman Kona I got from LQS (different colors one light). well they felt the same.... However when I took the Chocolate Kona (from Joanns) and felt it up against espresso RK Kona... the RK Kona was Alot thicker... Do you think the color has anything to do with it ?? I wouldnt think so but who knows...

Makes me think of the blind that can tell color by touch.

Yep, I think there is something to colors and touch. I swear grey t-shirts are WAY softer than any other color! Some people think I am crazy, but I know its true....so I have lots of grey t-shirts :)

I can't say for sure, but I suspect it is different. I have noticed that myself on Joanne fabrics.(I think they have different qualities in their own stores.)I do buy at Joanne's and use the store for many things.

Fabric Shack is great and the Kona fabrics are very nice. I'm sure you'll be pleased!

They are having a 1/2 price shipping sale right now.

Color does indeed have something to do with the weight of a fabric. The darker it is, the heavier. Its because of the ink they use.

Congrats on your first online purchase. Fabric Shack is awesome. If you ever are planning a trip to Waynesville, you can make an online order and specify in the "special comments/notes" section on checkout that you would like to pick up in the store, they'll have it waiting for you. My mom and I have done that before. They don't always carry the same stuff in the store and online, which is why we do it. They are great about shipping out quickly.

My mom's cousin and his family own the store. Last time (or maybe 2 times ago), I got to see the warehouse where all the online stuff and that place is packed, but very orderly. I even helped him carry a handful of the $3.00 fabric over to store for him :-).
