I order frequently from shopper's Rule, and there is a product called Incredible Shrinking thread. What is this used for? I am thinking perhaps for some sort of 'arts-y' block or wallhanging? I am not sure why I would really want something to shrink. It doesn't appear to be used for 'smocking'.

It's for creating different textures in fabric. You can sew straight lines, then shrink the thread to get one effect; squiggle-sew another piece of fabric to get another effect. The textured fabric can be very nice for, say, the center of an appliqued flower.

It does the same thing as Texture Magic. When exposed to steam it shrinks giving the fabric the coolest wrinkled look. I used TM this weekend and was wondering if the shrinking thread was better. Where id you see it?

It's a way of texturizing fabric pieces.

I've never used it, but it sure looks interesting. I've been on the fence about getting some myself. Looks like fun though. :-D

If I wrapped myself in it and stood in the sauna, do you think it would transfer its incredible shrinking properties to me? :-D
