i have purchased inexpensive fabric at times to do a quick project trouble is and i find this with wallmart good the dye dulls with in a few washing to prvent this when pre washing your material add about a 1/2 cup of vinagare it is what my grand mother would use when dyeing fabrics to set the dye somm of the cheeper fabrics have not had the dye set this can also be done to clothing you purchase the fist time washing vinigar also removes laundry soap and fabric softner build up and can make old fabric and clothing look brand new

LOL I put vinegar in the rinse section of my dish washer to prevent spots. Haven't tried it on fabrics. thanks!

Do you use white or apple cider?

Jingle 02-10-2010 06:17 AM

Thanks for the tip, I think it keeps colors from dying onto other fabrics also. I would only use white vinegar.
