School begins for me on Thurs. As of this evening, both of my daughters will be back at their respective universities for pre-class things they are involved in and my life will get back to normal! As much as I do love my girls and treasure the time they spend here at home...it will be nice to have my evenings to myself again (my husband's job takes him to alot of evening meetings). My plan for this coming week....finish getting my kdg room ready for the li'l darlings to come on Friday and find my elusive BOM completer fabric and actually make this month's block so I won't feel so 'guilty' when I go to my BOM quilt thing on Thurs evening. Next on my agenda, finish the quilts that are to go to the long-arm lady in mid-Sept.

Everything is piled up in stacks, in boxes, in bags, on shelves, in closets, in drawers, in plastic bins -- all over the place. It is spilling out into our bedroom. I also have another "bedroom" filled with cake decorating supplies. Lately I have learned that it is impossible to go in and make a big sweep and it will be clean and will stay organized. Impossible -- for me anyhow. I have learned from FlyLady that it has to be done in baby steps. I'm actually getting the hang of some of it. There may be hope. But I say to you, it isn't easy taking care of the classroom and the home -- especially if you're a "project or hobby girl." Now that I'm retired, I wonder how I ever had time to teach.

wow! And I was thinking I am alone with the same problem. My new projects multiply so fast and my room to quote my daughter is "BLACK HOLE" I am so glad I find courage to sign for this forum. Sisterhood is a great thing. Thanks for sharing. P.S. Actually I do not have problem, I have fun, it is my family who has a problem.

I have a chair next to my desk that holds future projects and the major one I am currently working on. For the others I am currently working on (like BOM), I have different bags/totes. I also have 2 small baskets on my desk for small projects like fabric postcards.

DOJO...just because we aren't organized, doesn't mean we are slobs :D :D I have every intention of having a neat and organized "anything" one day, just isn't today  I have the plastic boxes (empty), the labels, the shelving, the drawers, the cupboards..yet most of my stuff is in the bag from the store, stuffed in the cupboard, or in piles at one end of the cutting table, the ironing board, etc.!! Yes, even on the floor!! Today, however has been reserved for laundry, weeding, cooking, and going to the ex's to help repair the DD's car!! So I can confidently say my organizational skills will not be tweeked today

lol that's funny mommab - i look at it this way - i'm almost 73 years old and it's much too late to try to change things now. if i organized things, i'd for sure never be able to find things.
