Just got a Kindle and was wondering if any one has seen a pattern or has any ideas on making one. I can't figure out how to make a lip to hold it inside the cover.

I'm pretty sure the Moda Bake Shop has one.

Add 2 pieces of elastic diagonally to the top two corners, say about 3 inches long each. Make a "pocket" about 1 1/2 inches for the bottom. You can slide your Kindle in the pocket at the bottom and secure the top with the elastic corners. Hope this helps.

This one lets you read it while it's in the cover.

I used a tutorial at www.onepearlbutton.com for ideas and just made sure I used the dimensions of my Kindle. I have a picture post here and will try to find it. It's actually a photo of "round 2" because, well, I forgot to sew the strap in the first one!

I used very stiff cardboard (from the cover of a 3-ring binder) inside the quilted fabric and also used the elastic straps. I'm happy with the level of protection I was able to achieve for free with materials on hand. I got a newer model of the Kindle and there weren't many "bought" covers to choose from yet.

Here are pics of the kindle bag I did with the Moda Bakeshop pattern. A great way to use small pieces and practice some decorative stirches!
