A friend asked me what to write on the label for a very special comfort quilt. I guess we are all at a loss of words. Thankfully, it doesn't stop our fingers.
Please, what would be apppropriate wording for a comfort quilt going to the wife and young children of a serviceman killed in Afghanistan? Thanks for helping with this writer's block. |
May the God of all comfort bring you peace and healing.

Remembering a fallen hero and freedom fighter.

I don't think there are any words that really help. I might say something like:
Your loss is also a loss for all of America. We grieve with you. Please accept this quilt for a small comfort in your great loss. |
With gratitude, and sorrow, we remember.

In loving memory of a hero.
John Doe was a husband, a father, a son. He died a man of courage, a brave American who loved his country and who fought to make the world a better place. |
