Has anyone used or uses the Grace Gracie Laser light for their pantograms? How do you like it?

The flash light / laser that I got at Home Depot is just not working. I have it set up with velcor and it horrible. The light is all over the place when the machine is on.

I have a the HQII frame that sets up on a folding table. My husband has added 3/4" plywood on top of the (plastic) table to try to get the bounce down...not working. Plus, when the machine is at either end the boards are bowing just a bit. He and I are trying to figure this out without having to buy an expensive frame. It is getting frustrating to say the least. But determined to figure it out. What is wierd is that then the machine is off, the machine runs smoothly over the tracks, however, when the machine is on it is a VERY bumpy ride and I can't figure out why.....?????

Try bracing the center of the table. If the legs are on either end then it's going to bounce. If you can find something that's the exact heighth of the underside of the table and put it in the middle that should help.

My guess would be that your table isn't heavy enough with the possibility that the tracks are not parallel, like your machine is 'dog tracking'. I had my domestic on 2 30 inch high kitchen cupboards with a solid core door for the 'table'. That puppy didn't bounce for anything! Cost? 90 bucks---we went to a second hand building supply place.

I don't know what type holder you have for yours, my machine (Bailey) has a bar with a hole in it, you put the laser into the hole and tighten the screw which presses the on light, the one that came with it must have been about 10 for a dollar! I'm using the keychain one you find at the checkout at WalMart, works fine. and I agree with others, you need some bracing in the middle of your table

100% make sure your table is level. Anytime my table has bounced in the past, it's because it was not level. My husband always spends a good 15 minutes adjusting things minutely to get my table perfect.

I've got the Gracie laser -- I think it's great. Easy to adjust and move around. And it goes straight into a hole on the carriage on my frame.

Can you sew a little slower? (I know I'm asking a lot) This may sound weird but my husband installed dampeners Used for bow hunting for vibration and noise it works they now have peel and stick ones we had a archery shop- me quilt shop thats how we got the connection. My table is 14ft and when in middle machine wanted to do the 'hop scotch' found if slowed down and with help of stabilizers things mellowed out and should help with light. If hubby is into archery he will know what I am talking about!! Good luck
