Laundry Basket Quilts Triangle Exchange Paper... ?
 

I saw this paper used on an episode of Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting & was intrigued by them. Has anyone ever used them before? If so, did you like them? I have a couple books by the lady who owns Laundry Basket Quilts (that use these papers) & would like to try them but am not sure. I wonder if they would work well in trades/swaps, too? That was the gist of the Fons & Porter episode. Thanks in advance for your help with this!

It is the same as HST paper. It works nice and makes perfect HST. I think I prefer it on a roll so I can cut off exactly what I need, but I think she intends hers to be traded sheet for sheet. I'm just not into "scrappy" that much. I don't ever trade with people.

I saw this episode this week also. I,m tempted to try them.

I just got them and I'm using them for my next quilt, which needs 8200 HST blocks. I usually use Triangulations, but the most 2" finished blocks that I can get per sheet is 12 with Triangulations, where the strips of LBQ HST papers give you 28 blocks - more than twice as many means less time making 2" blocks.

These papers aren't any different than other HST foundation papers except that they don't have the little cut lines to remove the bunny ears before you press the squares open. They work just fine.

There are places on the web where you can print out different sizes on your own paper to get a feel for whether or not you like dealing with paper foundations. Some people don't like them, some do - I'm addicted to them, I'm afraid. I have grown fond of having most of my points intact and not floating. ;)

The advantage to Triangulations is that you have patterns for a TON of sizes in 1/16" increments, plus flying geese.

The advantage to LBQ papers is that you can do so many more at one time. :)

Using paper is wasteful and time consuming. Tearing it off is a pain and you need to shorten your stitch or it rips out the seam.
Since I found Quilt In A Days TRIANGLE square up ruler I can turn them out very quickly and they are always perfect.
Eleanor Burns is a genuis at finding the best and easiest ways to do quilting.
All my quilting buddies have switched once they saw how it worked.

I don't think using scrap paper is wasteful at all. Using scraps should be in our blood by now. LOL. Using Triangulations and paper piecing HST's is fastest and most accurate way of doing them for me. I would never use rulers or any other hoo-ha again.

It's definitely faster and more precise for me, too.

I try every gizmo and doohickey that comes along and this just works. Wasting a little newsprint is much more acceptable to me than wasting time making blocks that are cockeyed.

I'm not crazy about all paper piecing, but I do love the precision and the stabilization of all that bias. It's like magic. Granted, I am a little bit persnickety, but this is what works for me. If you find that it helps you, too, don't feel bad about it. :)

I have used these papers and enjoy doing my hst this way. I get more done in one sewing sitting and then rip paper when i have nothing better to do while watching tv or something simple as riding in car. This way youdo not have to square them up or cut on all four sides of triangle. I did the internet swap with them and if you have the books already, give it a try, you are not out anything and you learned something new.
