So the flower has several layers of fabric. Is it best to cut out the backs of layers so not so thick? Working on flowers using pieces 1-6.

Yes I think that would help. I do it and it seems to work for me. What pattern is that? I really like the style

Are you using steam a seam lite? If so, I would cut the middle out of the fusible, so just the edges of the fabric have the steam a seam on.

Also, you can cut out the back of the fabric layers after they are all put together. There has to be a tutorial on this??? someone who knows there way around here may know.

Yes am cutting out the centers of fusible. Some look like odd shape donuts...haha...and large pieces have a grid like attachment so they are easier to fuse.

I am currently working on Affairs of the Heart, and cutting out all the backs of my applique. This block would have 6 layers if I hadn't cut them out. (I needleturned mine, so no fusibles).
