Leaving the beach one day early BECAUSE ......

My new Dreamweaver sewing/quilting machine is in! So excited to go pick it up on Saturday. I got the call last Saturday that it was in, but I was on my way to the beach. What a wonderful end to a perfect beach trip. I brought my sewing machine with me and I have almost finished piecing a Halloween quilt top. Nothing better than beach reading all day and sewing all night! My husband was here 3 nights then had to fly home for work, so just me, the beach and my sewing machine. This is the life. Hate to see it end, but looking forward to getting my new machine! I may have to make this vacation alone an annual event - so relaxing.

I will post again about the new machine once I get it home and learn how to use it.

Sometimes a few days alone can be a real boost. My life is now just the opposite, I love to have a few days with other people instead of being alone all the time.

I always enjoy sewing with friends -- I value their opinions, etc., when I can't trust my own judgment; plus of course the fun times had by all!!

I have a friend who goes away for a week for a private sewing retreat every year. I would love to do that.

I also love going to sewing workshops and learning new techniques and meeting new sewing friends.

I hope you tell us how much you like it after you start sewing with it! Out of curiosity, how much did it set you back? I haven't seen it in person yet but it sounds wonderful!

I paid 3100.00 + tax.

I have a lot to learn, I have yet to quilt on a DSM, or any machine for that matter. Hope to have a lot of fun learning.

I don't know what the msrp is but that sounds like a very fair price! I'm looking around for a new machine myself but I'm after something with a long neck. I know the Dreamweaver has an 11" throat. I'm going to be selling my barely used 4500d to help fund the new purchase (and downsize to a Janome 350e which oddly enough was my first embroidery machine. I'm going back to where I started lol)

I know you are going to have fun with your new machine!
