Does anyone have suggestions for using scraps from fleece backings and the leftover parts of tshirts from making tshirt quilts?
I know the fleece scraps can be used for stuffing pillows but I really don't make pillows or pet beds as I have no need for them. I have a bag full of 2.5" strips from tshirts that I cut planning to use them for sashings, then I changed my mind. Plus I also have the sleeves and sides that I didn't use in the quilt. I hate to just toss this stuff out. LOL.. I'd appreciate any suggestions of ways to recycle this material. Hugs, smiles and thanks... |
Cut it in strips, sew in long lines, stretch and crochet a mile long single crochet. Then start winding it in circles and sewing it as you go. It'll make a nice rug for in front of the kitchen sink. I find them very easy to stand on, and since I spill lots of water it catches it, washes nicely and dries easily, then back on the floor. The cat likes his smaller one to be on his chair to watch out the window.

I use the back of the shirts as cleaning rags.

I go to the salvation army and buy a bag of tshirts and take them to my office to cut up for rags. they are the best rags you can't buy lol I use them for work, I use them in the office,at home and my husband uses them in the machine shed When the boys come home, they use them to clean their cars. Every once in a while a customer will notice them and ask where I got them. I use my rotary blade on quilting until it was dull dull dull and then finally after skipps would use it on the tshirts. Now-thanks to you gals and HF- I have all of the rotary blades I need. You are all great. Glad I stumbled upon this board!
