Yesterday evening I went to this event in austin, Texas which is a little over an hour from my home. It was really great. They let us see the quilt exhibit for free and then this young woman who attends the University of Texas school of music sang three
songs. She is doing a opera play related to quilting. She portrayed quilting through music. The songs she sung were from African-American classical composers.
She sang Creole Girl by Florence Price and Ain't Misbehavin by Fats Waller and I forgot the name of one of the song.

On Saturday I am going back to join a intergenerational Stitch Party. They are going to have 1930's style stitch party with a

Jazz Band playing music of that era. You are allowed to bring a project to sew on. They will also have different demos. I think it will be fun to meet with othera that share your passion
of quilting.

No pics because they would not allow camera in.
The quilts were stunning they had red and green quilts,
Hawaian and so on. The quilts were over a 100 years old.

.
Worth going to check it out if they come to a musuem near you.

You are so fortunate to have a wonderful opportunity so close to your home - an hour away isn't too far. Thank you for sharing.
