I've been making pillowcases and some of them are from fabric like Dora, Disney, NFL. If I sell these with this type of fabric, am I going to be in trouble? I got a lot of children's material at Joanns and want to sell these at a craft fair. Has anyone done this before? Do you need permission from someone to sell a pillowcase with a licensed fabric?

I suspect that you could be violating the copyright if you sell these. Hopefully, there's an attorney on the board.

This can be a very sticky subject. Some craft fairs will not accept anything that is a trademarked item unless you have permission from the owner.(Disney, sesame st., Dora). Others don't even question anything. The church and school shows might be safer for selling these.
IF...the Disney police see you at a show...they can confiscate every thing in your booth and also fine you.
I do too many shows a year to take a chance. I personally do not sell anything Trademarked at craft shows...I figure that the money I may make on the item isn't worth the trouble.
I know this subject has been talked about before...maybe you can find the thread. Good luck

Nope you can not sell items made from Licensed Fabrics. They are sold for personal use only.

You will get a lot of different answers on this...
Everyone agrees that you can make items for your personal use and gifts.

When it comes to selling items, is when there are debates on the legalities. Many of the online references are not reliable either. They are someone else's intrepretation of the law... and articles they cite? who knows how old they are or if they have been over turned.

Personally? I would not try and sell anything made with a licensed fabric. JMHO :D:D:D

Thanks for your input. I won't sell anything that is liscenced. It isn't worth the hassle. I appreciate your advice.
After teaching for 35 yrs. I know there are many tricky copyright laws...so this seems to fall in with that. I won't be buying any of this fabric unless it's for a gift.
