light weight batting
 

I want to make a quilt that is light weight. I always use warm and natural fo batting. What can I use?

I really like Hobbs 80/20 when I want something lightweight. It's easy to handle and needles very easily. I believe Hobbs also has an even lighter weight batting called Thermore, depending on what you're looking for. http://www.hobbsbondedfibers.com/products-retail.html

For light weight quilts I really Like Mountain Mists ;Cream Rose or Cream White. 100 percent cotton, very light weight and drapes wonderfully. It is a great summer quilt batting.
If you are used to using Warm and Natural , do check the quilting requirments on what ever you choose. Warm and natural has one of the most "generous" quilting distance of 10 inches. Most others are less .

Practically anything else. Either weight of Quilter's Dream cotton are both lightweight. Hobb's 80/20 isn't too heavy. One of my friends has used a soy/cotton blend batting that's very lightweight.

PDBY- 108. It's a 3oz poly. So it is more washable, better for babyquilts. So soft and snuggly and quilts beautifuly. My family's favorite.

Thanks Lori S I live near Houston and we have way more hot than cold. My fur babies like to sleep under the quilt.So I have been wondering about batting. I know quilt = warmth but I want one that really is a summer quilt for almost year round

I buy very thin fleece blankets for light batting. I can also use these in bags and purses and even tablecloths. I found a store here selling them for 2 euros (about 2.25 $) apiece so I stack up occasionally when they are on sale for 1.50 which seems to happen every 3 months or so.
