Oh, they're fun too. Look at my avatar. That is a silk quilt made with 10" blocks. It was soooo fun.

No Salsalady. None of the blocks in this book require a special ruler to create. But I am enjoying doing it this way. It really gives you a chance to rearrange the windmills, where the twister is set by how you sew the original blocks together. Hope you find one you like!!

I have Anita Solomon's book too, and tried her method on some 5" charm squares I had. The result was fun, successful and not at all wasteful. As the poster above said, the only waste was from squaring the blocks. No special ruler is necessary and I found her template easily adaptable to other sizes.

Thanks for putting this all together, there is a lot of information about the lil twister to look at.

I had to sample this twister myself today, placed tape on my 4 1/2" square ruler as directed in an earlier tut., cut four 6" squares in purples and blues, and a 4" wide border all around. Put a new blade in my rotery cutter, and cut as directed. I was really happy with the results, will probably do the larger pinwheel to make a quilt for my grandson, should go pretty fast?! :wink:
