I have seen a bath caddy used as well...the kind that is adjustable/expandable in length so it fits any rail system.

RIght now I use some extra curtain rods to keep my side clamps from falling down but as I advance my quilt, they get hung up on the red snappers and then fall off. Been using them for years. Think I tried yard sticks at first but they kept falling off more often so went to the curtain rods. Just some old ones I didn't need any longer. MIght have picked them at fromthe thrift shop as they don't need to be fancy.
