I'm looking to get a longarm,but I don't know which to get. Is there one that I could use with my Husky Rose? I don't want to go too expensive at this point.

Are you talking about a frame? If you want to use your sewing machine on a frame it's not a longarm.

a long arm is a large sewing machine with much more (throat-space) than your regular machine. there are a number of different companies and many different price ranges. there are gammils, handiquilters, nolting, apqs machines...the list goes on and on. with all kinds of different features, stitch regulators; laser's, design features.
if you are looking into something like this it is really recommended to go to as many dealer's shops as possible and try them out. it is a very big investment and you want the one that works best for you and falls into your price range.

if you are simply looking for a quilting frame to use your home machine on there are a number of those companies too...there are flynn's, gracie's, hinterburgs...again the list goes on.

I would haunt out longarm and mid-arm shops. I would also haunt quilt show that are going to have long and midarm booth. this way you can play with the machines and maybe they will let you load and unload the bars or rolls that you put the quilt and stuff on. I don't have one yet and will not for a long time I think. But I am going to start saving up and start playing with them. You might also want to call around to local longarmers in your area and see if they allow people to quilt on their machines for a fee. this will also help you learn to use them and you can also get close to the local longarmers and find out what they think about the different machines.

I am thinking along the same lines as you. I was looking at the Gracie II. Amazon has a good price on it.

I saw someone post a picture of a janome horizon on a frame....I am very interested in doing something like that...has anyone else done that? if so what frame do you use?

Someone at this site has a Mini Grace frame-I just read the post tonight. They stretch to a queen size. I used a Janome 6500 for over a year on a Grace Pinanncle frame and it worked great--just wanted to have more options for size of quilt design.

The Flynn frame looks interesting but I am still looking. I like the gracie frame. still looking.
