http://www.addall.com/ Heres another one to search for books. A friend passed this one on to me. I am slowly getting rid of my books since I find I rarely use them. Keeping technique books and history type but the rest are slowly being weeded out.

I use Amazon.com, but have used some of the others. Right now I'm in a selling mood, so check me out. Congratulations on your great find. It is always wonderful to find something you like for a very reasonable price. I always check the thrift stores. You never know what you will find!

I use Half.com. That will tell you where you can get a book used. Better World is one of their fulfillment companies. If you want to check out a book from the library before you buy it, try the website, www.worldcat.org. You enter your zip code the first time you use it and after entering a book's information, it will tell you where the nearest library is.

Where I live, if you see a quilting book you want to look at before buying, I ask local library for inter library loan. I have gotten library books from all over the country.

another used book source

I've used Abebooks.com a lot. Although not a huge selection of quilting, did find some older ones. Their shipping can range from free to very little. Just acquired 5 books for DH, totaling $28. including shipping from five different locations.

I use Half Priced Books Marketplace. One was actually shipped overnight from one part of Houston to the other! Prices vary from new to used.

I lucked out and found a $69.95 book on sale, but when I clicked on their used books, I found goodwill had them on sale: I paid $1.39 for one and 39cents for the second! Praise God! When looking at the used books, make sure condition states "excellent" or "good". I once ordered a book in "fair" condition which had one vital page missing! drats! finally broke down and paid the money for a 2nd copy! Don't be afraid to check out the individual bookstores/buyers - I've had good luck with them! Plus, I always have Amazon to mediate any disputes. Amazon does all the research on finding you the best price!
