I saw a tutorial today about Thread Catchers and thought
I would give it a try. They really do work!!! Also I am going to Shipshawana this Wednesday and I just had to make a name tag. I know, I know I didn't have room enough for all the letters of my name so I shortened it. |
Those threadcatchers are very cute. Is there a pattern?
|
How cute!!

Thanks for the link...these are so cute...and beats me forgetting to bring the trashcan each time I move to an area where I don't have one...
|
I use a mug for a thread catcher. Works fine and is decorative too...has a cat on it. :)
|
Than you!!! There is a tutorial on the QB for it.
Just search for Triangle Thread Catcher Tutorial. |

I thought I was the only one with a large, horizontal thread catcher! The funniest is my 9 year old son - he's seen me do this sew much that it's exactly what he does when he sews! He went to a "quilt camp" and the ladies were laughing when they told me he had the messiest floor area. I had to confess that he got if from me! |
Well,I will be making one or two to put wrapped hard candies in for little gifts to the patients where my daughter works,or on ones desk or whatever!
|

I made one last night too and so easy and fast to make. They would also make cute ornaments too and you could put a little wrapped candy in it and hang it on the tree. You could also use it for a little trinket box too. Huggies, Fay

Your triangle thread catchers are adorable! I checked out the link you posted. As I was reading the directions, I realized that I have the triangle template it calls for. So, you know what I did? Yup! I made one! I like the idea of putting a votive candle in it and giving as a gift! It doesn't call for that much material at all.
Thank you for posting this and the link to the tutorial! Have a great day! |
I seen that and I like the jester hat thread catcher too. Neat webstie! I can't wait to make some. Thought these would make such great little Christmas gifts for our quilter friends.
