I am looking for a paper pieced pattern for the Hunters Star. I want the "Whole" block as one 8" pattern, not just one section. Has any one seen this as a whole block instead of broken down in the 4 sections? I can find it in sections, but that's not what I am looking for. I am starting to think I am searching for something that does not exist. :?

Thanks.

So you want the section to be 4"?

Cause it still can't be PP-d contiguously or in one shot.

You could reduce the 8" foundation by 50% (just be aware that you have to adjust for a larger seam allowance).

I can make one up in EQ if you want, but it's just going to be the outline of the patches that make up the star.

Do you have a picture of the Star...I have an entire book of paper piecing patterns that I can look through...I am just not very good with the names of patterns

It's traditionally done in 2 colorways.

Jan Krentz wrote a great book

Here's a block Amma posted here last year:

am afraid what you want does not exhist. It must be done in sections.

Even in Carol Doak's book, you have to make four sections. She has some great pp patterns.

Thanks for all the replies. I was afraid that it would have to be constructed in 4 individual blocks. Thanks for the link to Amma's post. I think I might try that one and see how bad I screw it up!

Just note that the image in Amma's post actually requires 16 sections. ;-)

Sorry there wasn't an easier solution. But it's a very cool and versatile block.

correction - should be 32 sections. 16 blocks. ;-)

I think Amma's is 8 pieces to one block.
