Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a used Simplicity Quilters Classic from a lady in my area and within a week after using it I started having problems with it. The biggest problem is that when I take my foot off of the foot control the machine continues to add an additional stitch, sometimes two, before it stops. Also, when I stop sewing with the needle in the down position and press the needle up button the machine also sews an additional stitch before it stays in the up position. There always seems to be a slight pause before the additional stitches are added. Have any of you had this happen with any machine and what was the actual diagnosis and how did you resolve it? I didn't pay much for the machine and would hate to spend a lot to repair it. One repair shop I talked to over the phone said it is possibly an issue with the machines timing and the repair could be expensive. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bonnie

It sounds more like an electrical issue to me than a timing issue.

I assume this is a newer model that does not need oiling? What about cleaning? Perhaps some lint or caught thread somewhere is interfering with the machine's correct operation.

Take a look at your foot pedal also. It could have some fuzzy wuzzies in it slowing the return to stop.
