I'd love to hear of any techniques for creating chenile and other frayed fabric looks.

Rather than try to explain it I'd suggest you go to Google and type in -How to make chenille fabric. There are several sites that come up. Also if you are interested in making a rag quilt which has frayed seams, try Googling - making a rag quilt. Again yuo'll find sites to help you. Good luck.

Another source is the old Simply quilts shows. They showed how to do it on that one episode. I don't have the the site on this computer, if I think of it today, I will try and send it to you. But it looks simple, granted I have never tried it, but it looks easy......

This is the site for home chenile, hope this comes thru for you if not email me and I will send it that way. Rita |
yea, I got a great pattern for what I had in mind. Had no idea chenile took so much fabric to make. Simply Quilts was interesting. Didn't find any directions for chenile, but found a lot on quilts. There's alot more to wade through. When I have time. Thanks. Still open to more info & suggestions. : :D

O.K. I'll give it a look-see. I found a pretty cool site for for quilts and crafting under how to make rag quilts. It took me to a site called about.com. that you can specify all kinds of info to look for, like about quilts etc. I found pretty detailed instructions on marbeling fabric and some great pics. and free quilt patterns.

I also saw an episode of Sewing with Nancy where she made chenille so that would also be a web site to check.
