My friend and I took a course in machine quilting last night. It was really fun, but I am going to need a LOT of practice (Although, the instructor did say that our little class did the BEST of all the classes she has taught... haha.... probably tells that to all of her classes!!)

Anyway, what are your favorite machine quilting books? I'd like to add a few to my library and would love to hear about your favorites! Thanks!

I have 2 that I love. One is Hooked on Feathers by Sally Terry. I'm just getting to work and can't remember the name of the other one. When I get home I will post it here for you.

Both are great for domestic or longarm. The one I can't remember has a lot of practice exercise and thread/needle info. It really is great!

One of my favorites is "Quilting Makes the Quilt" by Lee Cleland. She shows the same top quilted in a variety of ways to show different techniques and how they can change the "mood" of the quilt. I also love "Mastering the Art of McTavishing" by Karen McTavish.

I finally found my book. LOL I cleaned and organized a couple weeks ago and now I can't find anything. Anyway, it is called Machine Quilting Made Easy by Maurine Noble. It is from That Patchwork Place. It was also a very good price. My sticker says I only paid 12.95.

It really is an easy to read and understand book. I learned a lot from it.

I have this book and really like it. Two by Kathy Sandbach - Show me how to Machine Quilt and Show me how to create Quiting Designs are great also. Foolproof Machine Quilting by Mary Mashuta shows you what you can to with a walking foot - not just straight line grid quilting! Good luck and practice, practice, practice!! That's what I'm doing!!

Harriet Hargrave - Heirloom Machine quilting - a great step by step guide.

Cheers, K
