Help! I am trying to quilt a twin sized quilt on my regular Janome. It has batik on the front and flannel on the back. I have an acrylic table that I'm using. I've got my feed dogs down, my quilting gloves on, and I just can't get it to slide. I am having to literally yank it through the needle area. I've never had this problem in the past. The only two other quilts that I've done with flannel on the back were quilted on a long arm. HELP!!!!!!

Are you using a walking foot?

Thanks so much! I knew I didn't want to use my walking foot (because I wanted to meander) but I had a clear foot on my machine. When I changed to my darning foot...voila it works great now!!! I stitched some with my multi-colored varigated thread but wasn't crazy about it so I'm going out for lunch with my hubby then coming back and trying nylon invisible thread. I think I'll be happier with that look on the front and then a purple varigated on the back!! Wish me luck!!

I'm sorry I didn't realize that you were meandering.

If you are giving this quilt as a gift you might tell the recipient not to put it in an overhot dryer. I did my sons and it melted some of the thread.

If you are meandering, try quilting it with the flannel to the top.
