I found like 10 yards of wool, I'm thinking that would make a super warm blanket!!! I was wondering if anyone has ever used it as a batting and quilted it on a long arm.

I dye wool and do applique. What color is the wool? Depending on the thickness - usually it is hand quilted. But if it is thinner rather than blanket weight you could try with a larger topstitch needle and heavier thread to quilt it. I have been thinking of using a blanket as the insides of a quilt too. I know people have done it. Probably something if you google it.

It is thinner weight and dark grey, which I though would be great for a quilt. I don't have the patience for hand quilting, three kids and a job get in the way of getting that done. I do have a long arm and would be doing it on that. I've never quilted wool before and didn't know if anyones ever had problems. On our long arm, I had tension problems quilting with batiks on the top and bottom. It's ok with it on one side, but not both. Thanks.
