Maine quilt shops

I'm going to Maine in July to celebrate my 35th Anniversary. We're staying in BoothBay Harbor. Anyone know any good quilt shops in the area?

I am vacationing in Kennebunkport, Maine right now. We just went to the quilt shop in Sanford. I don't know how close that is to where you are. It is a beautiful shop and the owner is very nice. lots of quilts on display. It was just featured in Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine (spring/summer 2012). Good selection of batiks (my favorite) and lots of other fabrics. LOVED the fabric. Kathiesquiltshoppe.com

check out http://mardens.com/index.php/stores I've read lots of positive comments about the fabric bargains - good fabric, in their stores.

There are a lot of great shops. Cotton Weeds in Freeport is cute and just up the road from the main LL Bean stores (be sure to go upstairs and see what's hanging in the classroom), Mariner's Compass in Bath, Maine-ly Sewing in Nobleboro and Alewives (don't remember the city, but it's about 10 min from Maine-ly Sewing). There's also Country Creations in Jefferson. If you google Maine Shop Hop, then click on printables on the site, then click on print map, you can see a map of a lot of the Maine shops. I've done the entire state hop and you can PM me if you have questions about any of the shops. I also like several others and depending on how you are driving, I may know shops in other states that you won't want to miss.

And Knights Quilt Shop on Route 1 - kinda south from where you will be - but one of my favorites.

Mainely Sewing on Rt 1 in Nobleboro. They also have a much smaller store right by the bridge in Wiscasset.

Alewives Fabrics in Nobleboro.

Quilt Divas in Rockland.

Mariners Compass in Bath.

Onboard Fabrics is on the road to Boothbay.

Happy Anniversary!
