Mariner's Compass pattern

I am planning on making a MC quilt next year and would like to know if anyone has a pattern and/or book they recommend. I've been quilting for 10 years, sewing for 54 years (oh no, telling my age!), so I have plenty of experience, but I don't think I can do anything beyond intermediate.

Thanks.

I used Judy Mathieson's book "Mariner's compass quilts setting a new course"

http://www.amazon.com/Mariners-Compa...ss+quilt+books

The book teaches you how to draft several different styles of compass, has full size patterns for a few different ones and teaches you step by step with photos and text using the freezer paper technique. I loved the book and also Judy's instructions. It has loads of eye candy in the book too. I highly recommend it. Here are links to two quilts I did using Judy's book:

i made a wonderful one using the quilt smart interfacing- i love that stuff! if you search QuiltSmart you will find patterns/interfacing for many wonderful quilts, Mariners compass & lonestars are my favorite using this method- they always come out so precise & wonderful...and go together pretty quickly too.

Cheryl Phillips has a pattern for a "3d" MC. Very easy. You can watch her video on her website before buying.
