I would like to mark some lines on my quilt to attempt some quilting. My quilt is black and white. But I also have just WOW in it as well. I have read horror stories on here about people not being able to get things to wash out and ruining a quilt. Does anyone have a suggestion of what I should use? Thanks!

I use stencils and a pounce pad or a Dritz disappearing pen.

Pounce pad? never heard of this? Have you always had good luck with the Dritz pen?

I use slim Chaco Liners.

I just looked up the pounce pad. It says you just rub it over the stencil and it chalks the design? Sounds pretty simple. how well does chalk work? Does it smear and smudge very easy. Thanks for the help!

I've heard a sliver of bar soap works well. Use the dress maker pens, chalk, have the pounce but haven't tried it yet. I've used ink pens but not suppose to. Lol

I use the pounce pad with the miracle powder. It is a chalk that disappears when you iron it. It stays on nicely while you are quilting your top. If you have any questions just ask.

I use watercolor pencils on darker fabrics. Most of the markings rub off after a while and they wash out.

I use a Hera Marking Tool by Clover. It doesn't bleed or leave residue. It's only limitations is that it will only do straight lines and curves. You can't use it with a stencil and you have to pretty much mark and sew.Other than that I use the Quilt Pounce by Hancy.

me too and if you don't want to wash the whole quilt will come off very easily with a damp cloth
