Sorting thru the depths of my stuff, found a matress pad, polyester, clean, and yes has the quilting stitches on it. Hate to toss it out so what type of project could I use it as batting?

I will follow this thread also

I don't see why you can't use it - especially if it a 'utility' type of quilt and no 'quilt police' are going to stop by.

it would make a nice single bed quilt or 2 cot quilts. could even do quilt as you go if the material is ok for a backing other wise you would have to cover it with something. I had some mattress pads but they were made of foam so I made cat beds out of them.

I would think anything you like. One of the first things that came to mind was the stuffing to a duvet cover.

Hold it up, how well does it drape? I like my quilts to have some drape to them. Just my thought. :-D

I've used them as "batting" in charity quilts, but tied, not quilted them.

Personally, I would wash it first and see how it looks after that. If it still looks good, GO FOR IT!

After it is washed you could use it for a quilt, place mats, coasters, anything.
I was given some prequilted material from my mil and I was in a hurry to get a quilt done, so I used the prequilted material. If you like the looks of the material used, that can be the backing, or just cover it up with other backing.

I have read in previous topics that people have used it for batting, but on comfort quilts--not on fancy quilt tops.
