I am trying to decide if I want to sell my patterns. I bought all the material to do the Forest Hollow quilt blocks and I bought 2 patterns. I would really like to make this into a quilt you use, not just art. Just wondering if anyone has down this. If too hard, I might just sell the material and 2 patterns. I have done out and about, Faith, Beach Walk, thinking about selling these patterns also. Need some advice. Thanks

I did one of Forest Hollow and some of her others. It worked ok as a bed quilt but I did stippling for the quilting to help the applique to be more secure. I would send a pic but I gave as a gift and stupidly did not take a pic of it. Have learned to do that since then.

Are you able to clean it? That is the problem. They are such beautiful designs.

OMG. I'd never seen her work before! It's beautiful! As a chicken lover I may just have to do this one:
http://www.pineneedles.com/SuperStor...AssortmentID=2 Are they difficult to do? Do they involve fabric painting or anything? Thanks for pointing the way to her designs! |
They are not difficult. They are like a puzzle, only you don't have to search for pieces. If you like applique you will like the patterns.

I would think all that fusible would make a very hard(stiff) and rather uncomfortable bed quilt.

No, I use the ultra light fusible Steam A Seam and it is very soft. If I have a large area I use freezer paper to cut out the piece and then glue stick it on to keep it in place. I save the Steam A Seam for small and thin pieces. Works out good and not stiff.

I'll make a note Candace, but this is for a hanging so may be OK. I do like to use the S A S 2 lite and cut out the middle.
I love that stuff and used it on a recent project. It's not stiff at all! Haven't appliqued it yet but I do that by machine anyway. Thanks all, for the input! I will probably try it, knowing me!!  |
