Okay quilters, I have a question? Remember, I haven't done quilting in awhile. When measuring material to cut the quilt strips or squares on the self healing mat, do you measure it from where the two number ones meet or do you measure it all the way down to the number one. The two number ones make an angle?

Are you measuring using your ruler (not your mat)? Are you using scissors or a rotary cutter?

Sounds like you are using a mat for measuring. Not a good idea!!! Use the ruler instead.

just use the mat to line up your fabric straight. then lay your ruler on the fabric and cut strips. if you are right handed, most of the fabric will be on your right. if left handed, the fabric will be on your left. just easier. but some quilter do things differently. so what ever works for you.
does that help?
