How delightful to have met her, as a friend, and as a possible source of work! So....
Take a deep breath and remember to think of these things BEFORE you talk to her about working on anything for her. 1. Get it in writing. 2. Get a down payment up front to cover the cost of your supplies. (This way, if she reneges on the project, you will at least not be out the cost of the fabric/thread/batting.) 3. Agree how/and how quickly she will pay the balance when you are done. 4. Agree on a time line for the work and put it in writing. 5. Hate to be a downer but have had several such experiences and once they find out how much money is involved, the interest vanishes. I am glad to help people learn to quilt but do not want to be a production quilter for others.
