metal tip for Elmer's School Glue bottle?
I used Elmer' School Glue on a binding recently but couldn't make a fine enough line with the orange plastic tip that comes on the bottle. Quite a mess. I looked at Sharon Schamberg's video about using it (sorry, probably wrong spelling of her name) and saw that she had a metal tip on her glue bottle, and she mentioned using it, but I can't find this metal tip anywhere. Does anybody know where I can find one? How to order it, etc?

She sells them on her web site but found she is always out of stock. I found mine at Joann's in the Paint dept. they were very inexpensive.

thanks for the info. I tried to find one last year but no luck. I will try Joann's.

I found mine at Overstock.com, some have found them at Michael's, JoAnn's and Walmart.

She originally said you could use the tip from a mechanical pencil; just unscrew the tip from the pencil. Currently her dd's website sells a plastic tip for glue bottles. Here is a link:

Just don't open the bottle lid full throddle. Open a tiny bit, dab 'dots' of glue, iron and you're ready to go.

I learn something new every day. Thanks

Go to a store like Michales, JoAnn's or the like and into the art dept. and you will find tips that fit the paint bottles and there are a couple sizes in there that will screw on.

IMHO, it does not need to be those tiny metal tips. I have posted this before and I have even turned quite a few scrapbookers into believers. Go to a beauty supply store (we have Sally's Beauty Supply here) and pick up an empty applicator bottle. They even have slanted tipped ones! They are less than $2. The cap fits right on the glue bottle. It is a longer tip with a small opening and it is very easy to guide the glue where you want it. Rinse out the cap when finished, don't store the glue tip with a pin inside it until it is washed and dried. Some pins rust and make a mess in the glue. Ask me how I know... If you buy the larger bottles of glue for economy, pour glue right into the applicator bottle.
