Run, don't walk to Michaels. They are discontinuing their fabric bundles (4 FQ) I've cleared out two local Michaels so far paying $0.49 for the bundle. I've bought everything they had!!! So if you live near Ann Arbor or Brighton in Michigan don't bother, I wiped them out. I bought 14 bundles of 4 FQ's each for a total of $6.86 Can't beat that!! That is 3-1/2 yds of fabric for less than a normal yard.

Mine doesnt have any fabric, darn!

Sometimes the fabric is hidden in with the yarn. I think they all carry the same basic items. Look for the sewing notions the fat quarters will be close by. At one store I found them on the back wall, at the other they were with the embroidery floss.

I posted a pic yesterday of my Michaels trip. I bought 10 of them. I couldn't believe it.

Thanks for the heads up. I went there today and got 7 bundles. The manager tried to tell me they weren't the ones on sale, but I matched the upc number to a price label and made him match it. I also got some single fat quarters for $0.49. Not as good of a deal, but it helps me get more stash up for my FWS. This is a great sale!! To bad that probably means that they will no longer have fabric.

I just got back from Michaels. The fat quarter bundles were $1.49, not $.049. Each bundle had 5 FQs. I bought 13, all they had. The normal price was $9.99 so I saved, quite literally, a big bundle. The loose FQs were on sale for $.099, which didn't make sense and so I didn't buy any of them. Thank you so much for the heads up. I am thrilled to finally make a steal of a deal!

Why you little stinker!!!! I would have done the same thing. Bought it all!!!! Thanks for the info on them closing out the fabs.

Joanie2 07-13-2010 03:16 PM

I kind of looked at it as if I didn't buy it all the next person would. We have a fabric store (Hancocks) right around the corner so most local quilters wouldn't head to Michaels for fabric. I would have been crazy to pass it up for $20. If the loose fqs were only $.049 I probably would have bought them all as well although there weren't more than 15 or so of them.

I didn't get as good a deal as you ... but I got a bunch of fat quarters ... about $15.00 worth ... wish I had went the other day...

Our Michaels does not carry fabric. But, happy for you in your find!
