Mighty Bright Light

This weekend I purchased a Mighty Bright Floor light with magnifier. It's awesome. I was looking at Ott floor lamps with magnifier's, and even went to a friends to try it out. I found I could not get the mangifier in the right position to do the hand stitching on the binding. I had read some reviews on Amazon and decided to keep my Joann's coupon in circulation.

The 5" magnifier moves into position easily and has LED lights all around the magnifier. And, another thing I liked about it over the Ott Light was the size and weight of the base.

Would give this light a thumbs up.

That's good to know as I am not a fan of Ott lamps. I have had 2 and neither lasted even a year. I do know that other people have had much better luck with Ott, but I'll pass and check out the one you recommend.

Good to know. I have an ott light but without magnifier.

My sister has an Ott light and loves it, my mother, not so much. Me...I don't have one but have several smaller lamps with daylight bulbs and they work great. I have replaced all of the bulbs in my sewing room and LA quilting room with little bit higher watt daylight bulbs and it has made a hugh difference it being able to see. The daylight bulbs are a little bit more expensive, but way cheaper than an ott light and last a lot longer. Some of mine (the bulbs) are at least 5 years old.

I wanted to see what you're talking about so Googled it: http://www.mightybright.com/Magnifie...-and-Magnifier and http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Bright-.../dp/B001D49350
I see that it also runs on 3 - D batteries. So this would be good to take on a retreat where there might not be an outlet nearby! Thanks for the review on this lamp.

I've had my floor Ott light for about 10 years, haven't needed to change the bulb yet.
I use it everyday, late Spring to early Autumn, in my living room, it's a dark room.

Otherwise, I use a halogen lamp - throws off too much heat when it's warm

Both give terrific light, in my opinion.

I need a bright light for my quilting room. I have a 24 W Ott light but the base sometimes gets in the way! Thanks for the info!

I have always used and liked my Ott lights. I am more than willing to check out this one as another option. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with this light source.

I have an Ott. When I bought it (at the big box store) They gave me a lightbulb saying that they have been burning out quickly. I have not replaced the bulb yet.

I love my Ott lights! My first one lasted 15 years. Just replaced it and the bulb a few months ago. Got a replacement at Michael's for about $50.00.
