Hi Everyone!
I want to start making Mini quilts, how do I want to get started?
Any tips I should know?
Thank you!

Have plenty of patients. Start small (so to speak) and work you way up. It is like "big" quilting. Start with something easy and progress to the harder things. It takes about the same amout of time as a big quilt. Don't expect just because it is small that it is quick. It's not. It is very rewarding and addictive. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions here. We are all very happy to help.

Have you seen Terrie Sandelin's book that came out last year? I'm a beginner, but I've made 2 great-looking mini-quilts using her book!

Those are beautiful!! May I ask what do you do with mini quilts, are they for wall-hangings?

These mini-quilts are Terrie Sandelin's. I couldn't find pictures of mine. Her method makes everything turn out beautiful!

I have used mine for wall hangings in smaller spots on a wall.

Good luck!

Smaller quilts are a lot of fun! You can take most any block and miniaturized it and make a mini quilt. Paper pieced or tradionally pieced, just relax and have fun with it :D:D:D If you google mini quilt or doll quilts you will see lots of them out there. Browse through the doll quilt swaps here, there are many awesome quilts that will inspire you!!!

Some are just a very elaborate 12" or so quilt block with very small borders added on. You quilt and bind like any other quilt

Check out the sites like quilters cache, lots of inspiration there :D:D:D

Oh I love mini's!! Darlene Zimmerman is a good author to look into. If you wanted something a little bigger look to the Marietta, GA gals who have "Little Quilts" on line. Good luck and yes I spend a lot of time on each mini!

I just checked out Rhonda's site. She makes it look so easy. I am going to try to make the pincushion/box.
One of my plans for next year is to learn how to make minis. I am going to check out the book by Terri S.
Thank You for all the info. posted here.
